Why people come for Christmas
Branson is famous for its Christmas lights and holiday shows, and Silver Dollar City puts on a Christmas festival every year. Lots of families plan a November or December trip just for that. Dates and events change each year, so check the official calendars before you book.
What makes a good holiday rental
First, make sure it's actually open, since some lake resorts close for part of the winter. After that, look for a fireplace and a living room big enough for everybody, a full kitchen if you want to cook a holiday meal, and a short drive to Silver Dollar City if the lights are the main reason you're coming.
Christmas at Bavarian Village
We're open through December 31, and our fall and holiday rates run from September 14 to the end of the year. We close from January 1 until March 1.
Want a fireplace? Look at Kim's House, with a stone fireplace and a big kitchen, which sleeps up to 13. Hotel California has a stone fireplace and a long dining table, and sleeps up to 10. Our Cedar Cabins have a fireplace under a cathedral ceiling and a full kitchen, and sleep up to 10.
Silver Dollar City is about five minutes away, so you can see the lights at night without a long drive back.
Staying into the New Year?
Our sister resort, Tribesman Resort, is also on Indian Point and stays open year-round, so it's a great option if your trip runs past December 31. It has an indoor pool and three-bedroom cabins that sleep up to 11. You can check dates on the Tribesman booking page.
